Parent's Night Out

Through a holistic approach to development, Ragsdale YMCA’s after school program provides kids #TimetoExplore by combining academics with play and offering a caring and safe environment where youth can achieve, feel a sense of belonging, build friendships and explore new interests. When kids attend after school programs at the Y, they improve their study habits and reading skills; build healthy eating and physical activity habits, gain exposure to the arts, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), global learning and more.

The Ragsdale Family YMCA offers member discounts on after school care and offers three options for care for kids Kindergarten through middle school.

All day child care programs are also available when Guilford County Schools are closed for teacher workdays. See All Day Info to in our quick links section for more details.

Benefits of our program

Youth in Y after school programs demonstrate improvement in the values, skills, attitudes and behaviors needed for success in school and life. Y programs give kids #TimetoExplore and help fill gaps in schools and communities where some recreational opportunities like art, music and physical activity offerings are limited.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: Homework support, healthy snack, arts and humanities, character development, sports and fitness, outdoor games, board games, fitness activities, STEM programming and weekly swimming.

We offer financial assistance for all programs at the Ragsdale YMCA through our Open Doors Scholarship Program.
